Enrollment during the academic year includes 35 weeks of lessons. Tuition is divided into nine equal monthly payments, regardless of the number of lessons in a given month. Prorated billing is available for students who begin mid-semester.
Accepted payment methods include PayPal, check, or cash. A 3% transaction fee applies to PayPal payments sent with Purchase Protection.
Invoices are issued on the 15th of the prior month, with payments due by the 1st of the lesson month.

Tuition Due Dates:
August 25, October 1, November 1, December 1, January 5, February 1, March 1, April 1, May 1
A $20 late fee will be charged for late payments. If an invoice is sent late by the teacher, the due date will be extended by the same number of days the invoice was delayed (e.g., if sent on December 16, payment is due January 2).

Monthly Tuition Rates (9 Equal Payments): Please ask for current tuition prices.
Tuition includes participation in both the Winter and Spring Recitals and the “APS Salon Concert Series” open recitals.

Semester Lesson Completion Deadlines:
-
Fall Semester: Lessons must be completed by December 26.
-
Spring Semester: Lessons must be completed by June 16.
Lessons not taken by the semester’s end are forfeited. Credits do not carry over between semesters.
Summer Lessons (June 22 - August 21, 2026)
Summer lessons offer flexible scheduling to accommodate vacations and other summer plans; however, tuition must be paid monthly based on the number of scheduled lessons. Invoices are sent on the 15th of the preceding month, with payment due by the 1st.
Students are encouraged to take as many lessons as their schedule allows. Any unused lessons may be rolled over to the following month.
Summer Lesson Rates (Per Lesson): Please ask for current tuition prices.
Lesson Enrollment and Scheduling
Weekly lessons are required for enrollment during the school year. Students who are unable to be placed in the schedule may join the waiting list.
Should a student choose to discontinue lessons for more than three consecutive weeks or withdraw entirely, all outstanding balances are due immediately. Refunds are not issued for unused lessons or prepaid tuition, including in cases of mid-month or mid-semester withdrawal.
The teacher reserves the right to discontinue lessons for reasons including (but not limited to): nonpayment, excessive absences, disruptive behavior, or lack of preparation.

Lesson Length Requirements
Minimum lesson times are determined by the student’s level:
-
30 minutes/week: Required through Russian School of Piano Playing, Book 1, Part 1
-
45 minutes/week: Begins at Book 1, Part 2
-
60 minutes/week: Begins at Book 2 and above
Serious students are encouraged to consider longer or multiple weekly lessons. Custom tuition quotes are available upon request for lesson times exceeding 60 minutes per week.

Makeup and Cancellation Policy
Tuition reserves a weekly time slot exclusively for your child. As such, missed lessons are not refundable.
Students are allowed two makeup lessons per semester, provided at least 6 hours’ notice is given. Makeups may be scheduled:
-
During remaining open times in the teacher’s calendar
-
During a designated makeup week
-
With a substitute teacher (Ms. Rachel)
After two makeups, further absences are forfeited without makeup or refund.
Late Cancellations (<6 hours’ notice): These are automatically forfeited and charged.
Online Lessons: In cases of mild illness, in-person lessons may be replaced with Zoom lessons. These do not count as makeups if held at the regularly scheduled time.
Makeup lessons must occur within the same semester. At the teacher’s discretion, an exception may be made for a missed lesson at the end of a semester, rescheduled during the first week of the next semester. This may not replace a regularly scheduled lesson.
Teacher Cancellations:
If the teacher must cancel a lesson, makeup options will be provided. If an entire teaching day is canceled, options will be limited to Zoom or substitute instruction unless otherwise noted.
